Student Placement and Qualified Volunteer Counsellor
What will the role look like?
The purpose of this role is to provide up to 6 sessions of 1:1 counselling for the young people who are accessing the programme who feel they would benefit from more focussed therapeutic support. In addition, referrals are open for young people who do not access the other aspects of the programme such as the group element and mentoring or advocacy service. The role is currently commissioned until end of June 2026 and will be delivered on Wednesday and or Thursday 3pm – 7.30pm . Successful candidates will need to be available for at least one of those days for the time stated.
What we are looking for?
Qualified counsellors who would like a voluntary role and have an interest in supporting young people and young adults within a community setting. This role is also open for applications from a Counselling / Psychotherapy student preferably within their 2nd year (may consider 1st year students if they have professional or lived experience of working with this age group).
The purpose of this programme is to provide a safe space where young people can come together, reduction in isolation and individual counselling to help address some of their challenges .
