Criminal Justice BME Employability Worker

What will the role look like?
This is a brand new Barca Leeds role in partnership with the West Yorkshire Probation Service, to support unemployed adults from ethnic minority backgrounds in probation in Leeds.
The role focuses on building trusting relationships and engaging individuals into support, so they can identify barriers that have prevented them from entering work. The worker will help people explore pathways toward training, employment, or education, delivering support one-to-one in community settings across Leeds.
An excellent level of cultural awareness will be required so that they can work across a range of diverse communities, adapting to their different needs.
What we are looking for?
We are looking for someone with the skill of managing a case load of up to 20 people, providing light touch support to those exiting the programme, helping to achieve outcomes surrounding employment and training.
The applicant should be experienced in supporting clients and have experience in supporting people with work coaching, job searching, CV writing and interview skills.
Being able to build positive relationships with people is a key skill for this role.
