About our Wellbeing Hour Service
Our Wellbeing Hour Service provides young people 11-25 years of age particularly those from the LGBTQ+ community or with neurodivergent presentations, with a package of mental health support. This includes mentoring, workshops and 1:1 counselling from Barca-Leeds office in Bramley. Our aim is to help them improve and maintain positive mental wellbeing and provide therapeutic support which assists them in dealing with current or past emotional difficulties which impact them.
Who can access the service?
This service is available to young people 11 - 18 years of age and young adults 18-25 years of age; who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues related to their identity and who live primarily within West Leeds.
What we offer
Young people refer themselves or via another professional. An initial assessment to explore suitability for support. Up to 12 sessions 1:1 counselling support provided by a fully qualified volunteer counsellor. The work would be overseen by the clinical counselling lead for the service. Core YP or Core 10 and Goal Based Outcomes will used during the intervention to monitor impact.
Volunteer Qualified Counselling Placement
To deliver 1:1 face to face counselling sessions for this service to young people +11 years of age from our office in Bramley as part of a small team. Volunteer counsellors commit to delivering on either a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday including late afternoon / early evening. They will have a caseload of up to 4 clients. All records are stored electronically. Volunteer Counsellors will be supported internally with monthly line management from a qualified therapist and will receive a £75 contribution per month towards external clinical supervision costs (mandatory).

Closing date for this role is Midnight Thursday 26th June 2025 with interviews takings place on the 3rd and 4th July 2025
