About our Rediscover Service
Rediscover is our parent counselling service which runs on a Wednesday and Thursday from Barca-Leeds office in Bramley. Our aim is to help parents, carers and guardians deal with current or past emotional difficulties which impact them and in turn, their children and families.
Who can access the service?
Parents, Carers or guardians with dependents aged up to 18 who are accessing a family support offer within Barca/Bramley Cluster/Pudsey Cluster/Barca Linking Leeds and who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues.
What we offer
An initial assessment to explore suitability for support. Up to 12 sessions 1:1 counselling support provided by a Counselling student on placement, the work would be overseen by a fully qualified and experienced therapist. Wellbeing Wheel and Goal Based Outcomes will used during the intervention to monitor impact.
Student placement offer
To deliver 1:1 face to face counselling sessions to parents, carers and guardians from our office in Bramley as part of a small team. Students commit to delivering on either a Wednesday or Thursday and will have a caseload of up to 4 clients. All records are stored electronically. Many of the clients we support have experienced trauma, therefore this placement may be of interest to students who have some experience of delivering client sessions and are looking to further develop their skills in this area. Students will be supported internally with monthly line management from a qualified therapist and will receive a £25 contribution per month towards external clinical supervision costs (mandatory).
