Alcohol and Substance Worker (Primary Care)
This role is within the Forward Leeds partnership, with a focus on helping to assist in the reduction of alcohol and drug related health problems and harms in the adult population
This role is permanent, but subject to funding.
What will the role look like?
The purpose of this role is to work to support people whose lives are affected by alcohol and drug use (predominantly non-opiates).
As a member of Forward Leeds Focussed Intervention Team for Primary Care you will be at the forefront of Forward Leeds drug and alcohol service. The role will involve delivering interventions to people who identify as needing support to address their substance use and are seeking support via their GP. This will primarily relate to alcohol use, but may include non-opiate substances.
We welcome applicants with their own lived experience, who may be looking to work within substance misuse services for the first time.
What we are looking for?
We are looking for people with experience of working with people with issues around alcohol and/or drugs and providing structured support through assessing needs and care planning treatment goals as well as delivering structured 1-1 interventions.
You will need to be able to work independently within Primary Healthcare settings, as well as part of a citywide team, and have a proactive approach to engaging with people and partner agencies.
