I like working for Barca/Linking Leeds as you are not micro-managed but well supported. It has a feel of a small family run company. It feels like a real charity, and everybody gets on. They are open to feedback, are great with inclusivity and reasonable adjustments. It’s a great place to work if you have children, disabilities, caring responsibilities, or illnesses, as you can make the job work for you. You are also making a difference to your local community, which is rewarding.

My role as Wellbeing Coordinator involves supporting clients to make changes in their lives relating to emotional, practical and social needs, this is called 'social prescribing'. I work with clients for around 2 months and support them to engage in meaningful conversation during our appointments and also signpost or refer them to organisations that can help them to achieve their goals. I have appointments on the phone, in a community hub and at a primary care doctor's surgery.
